What is Antivirus System PRO, and How Do I Remove It?

There seems to be a huge outburst of the Antivirus System PRO virus.  It has spread very fast in a very short period of time. Basically, it is a Trojan Horse Virus that represents itself as a Virus Scanner.  Once Infected the virus will hijack your computer, and the Fake Virus Scanner will continuously pop-up reporting false information about your PC.  It reports your computer is infected with a whole bunch of viruses, and persuades you to buy the full version in order to get rid of them.  DON’T FALL FOR THIS. Automatic Removal:

Download: PC Tools Spyware Doctor

1. Download and Install Spyware Doctor
2. Perform a Scan (It should find the Antivirus System PRO)
3. Remove all the malware it finds.

Manual Removal:

Before you proceed, we highly recommend you to backup your system and your registry.  In case things don’t go right you can restore back to the earlier state.

Step One: Restart your computer and as soon as Windows loads (before Antivirus System Pro gets a chance to load) press ctrl + alt + del and open task manager to kill the following processes:

Any file name that ends with sysguard

Any file name that resembles the name of the virus

*you should open task manager as soon as your desktop appears

*you will have to wait untill Antivirus System Pro loads in order to kill the process

*do not close out of task manager once you have it open

Step Two: Once you have stopped Antivirus System Pro from loading, go to Windows Start and then Run (if Windows XP user) or the Start Search line (if Windows Vista user) and type in msconfig

Once inside System Configuration, go to the Startup tab and uncheck any files that end with sysgaurd, any files that resembles the name of the virus, or any file that you may suspect to be the virus.

Step Three:  Once you unchecked the suspicious files, expand the Command line at the top within the Startup tab inside System Configuration and locate the files that you unchecked on your computer and delete them.

The files maybe inside folders that are hidden so you will have to go to folder options and select show hidden folders.

Step Four: Restart your computer and revisit this site and do a scan of our virus software to ensure the virus is properly removed from you computer.
